Club Descriptions

VEX Robotics Club

  • Gain a strong foundation in robotics engineering as we explore design concepts to more advanced robotics systems using the VEX EDR Robotics kit or the VEX IQ Robotics kit.

  • Notes: Year-long club. No coding experience required.
  • Grades: 4 – 8

3D Printing

  • In this club, students will learn how to create their own three-dimensional designs that they can animate and print using a 3D printer! By the end of this series, they’ll be able to take home a 3D-printed version of their design!

Coding Club: Python

  • Explore the basic principles of computer science, while learning how to code in Python, a widely used and easy-to-learn programming language.

  • Grades: 4 – 8

Coding Club: Scratch

  • Explore the basic principles of computer science, while learning how to code in Scratch, a very simple visual programming language developed by the MIT Media Lab.

Game Design Club

  • Work with other students to design and create a multi-level online game using a variety of gaming platforms.

LEGO Engineering Club

  • Investigate different architectural designs and experiment with simple and compound machines using a variety of LEGO kits including the LEGO We-Do 2.0 kit, the LEGO Simple & Powered Machines kit, and the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Robotics kit. Emphasis will not only be on the Engineering Design Process, but on the Mathematics and Science that are observed in each project.

K'NEX Engineering Club

  • Design and create a variety of engineering projects from bridges and catapults to automated rollercoasters.

Filmmaking Club

  • Do you love movies? Ever wonder how they’re made? Join the Filmmaking Club to experience the magic of making your own movie! Learn camera and lighting techniques, acting and script writing, story boarding, video editing, and green screen technology.

3D Animation Club
