Class Descriptions

VEX Robotics

  • Gain a strong foundation in robotics engineering as we explore design concepts to more advanced robotics systems using the VEX EDR Robotics kit or the VEX IQ Robotics kit.

Coding with Python

  • Explore the basic principles of computer science, while learning how to code in Python, a widely used and easy-to-learn programming language.

Coding with Scratch

  • Explore the basic principles of computer science, while learning how to code in Scratch, a very simple visual programming language developed by the MIT Media Lab.

Game Design

  • Work with other students to design and create a multi-level online game using a variety of gaming platforms.

LEGO Engineering

  • Investigate different architectural designs and experiment with simple and compound machines using a variety of LEGO kits including the LEGO We-Do 2.0 kit, the LEGO Simple & Powered Machines kit, and the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Robotics kit. Emphasis will not only be on the Engineering Design Process, but on the Mathematics and Science that are observed in each project.
